How Vessel Betters Boulder's Sustainability

On May 4, 2018 our community came together to welcome, celebrate and support Vessel Wrks.  After a pilot program in Manhattan, Vessel Wrks founder Dagny Tucker chose Boulder for the first city-wide rollout of sleek, returnable, reusable hot and cold beverage cups. Paper to-go cups are rarely recyclable, so Vessel's soon-to-be iconic stainless steel solutions will serve a consortium of coffee shops, starting with Boxcar Coffee. Drop-off kiosks around town and in-store returns will keep paper off the streets and out of landfills.

The philanthropic "Evening of Revelry" also unveiled Boxcar Coffee's new Roastery, as partners and donors enjoyed a springtime soiree set amongst the roasters and coffee bean sacks.

GB Culinary welcomed guests with bites like

Crispy Artichoke, Shell Peas,
Haystack Chevre, Beet Root, Olives

&

Peachtree Farms Pork, Thyme Biscuit,
Fennel & Spring Onion Jam, Pickled Mustard Seed

along with Boxcar's made-to-order coffee and signature cocktails by Tasting House. A combination plated & family style dinner showcased GB Culinary sustainable pork and beef preparations with snaps of spring like buckwheat, asparagus, radish, rhubarb and morels. The evening concluded with a signature Boxcar Bakery dessert.

Live music and moving performances by local and international artists told the story of cyclical waste, systems design and intentional commitment to change.
