Here on the farm we are briskly climbing our way up to the peak of the season, and the view from here is looking pretty darn good! Every day is a harvest day, from summer squash to beans to carrots to beets to lettuce to cucumbers. Tomatoes are making their colorful debut which always feels exciting. We are starting to harvest eggplant, as well as a couple varieties of peppers. Melons, pumpkin, and winter squash are giving a good preview of a bountiful late summer. We have started our fall crops in the hoophouse, including cabbages, broccoli, kohlrabi, and cauliflower, and those will go into the ground in a week or two.
While we bask in our bounty, we also have to be a step ahead in planning. The work around here is never done, and we will continue our climb!
While catering events continue to stay at small and safe numbers, the avenues from farm to kitchen to consumer have changed a bit. With the farm yielding more produce than ever, we find ourselves with an abundance of produce to share. We are excited to have the chance to be able to provide this fresh off the farm directly to your doorstep. Each week we will choose a variety of what’s good from the ground and create a box (feeding 2-4) that can be dropped to your doorstep. Click on our Deliverables menu for details.
