GB Culinary Commitment vs. COVID

What are you committed to while Covid comes up with ways to affect you?
Our line of work is particularly personal - namely, connecting over food for milestone events like weddings, anniversaries, graduations, etc. Even a corporate event is more personal than it sounds - for instance, an office party is generally put together by those who have built a business over years of personal sacrifices amid challenges.
Months in, we’re finding that if we’re to celebrate in 2020, we must see eye to eye on what is advisable, enjoyable and timely.
Advisable - Even with every protocol in place (topped off with new industry standard waivers), the main focus for advisability is total headcount. The more people in one place, the more risks are literally invited. Guests and staff both contribute to the total. The nature of your event, the size of your venue, and the effectiveness of your rain plan are also factors. Currently, we’re seeing local events are most reasonable when planning for a max of 50 guests. We are happy to talk with you about your unique plans and share our experiences thus far. While we wade into the future, editing our experience is our best tool.
Enjoyable - We’ve found so many ways for new formats to be fun. That said, if you’re looking for a dance floor, you might not be ready to invest in a 2020 party. While we’ve been honing hygiene into its highest form of hospitality, the associated additions to food, service and logistics can result in more staff, rentals, supplies and planning time. Each of these can add up to make the end cost of a 2020 event quite different than its 2019 counterpart. If the changes you’re seeing make you feel less excited about planning or attending, hit pause. Let yourself warm up to what can and can’t be.
Timely - As your event date approaches, be prepared to celebrate what you planned in a way that greets whatever develops around your date. If your holiday party poses in-person risks, we’ll help you find ways to deliver good food as gifts. If your wedding must downsize to a party of 15, we’ll turn that full dining room into a weekend of intimate brunch and dinner parties. We’ll help you plan options other than — or in addition to — postponement.
Our openness on all of the above is our commitment vs. Covid. We are set on healthy events and satisfying plans with our clients.
